The IUTAM Symposia Panels In 1977 the IUTAM Bureau set up two panels charged with the duty of scanning proposals made for IUTAM Symposia in the fields of fluid and solid mechanics. In 1992 that duty was extended to include scanning of proposals for IUTAM Summer Schools. Finally, in 2002 scanning of proposals for co-sponsorship of non-IUTAM events was also included as a duty of the panels. The following members of the fluids panel and the solids panel have been elected in 2008 for the period up to and including the 2010 meeting of the General Assembly.
